The Silentium Valley Band was formed by Hungarian friends in the Bay Area in 2018. We all have very diverse backgrounds from Jewish to Transylvanian, Bulgarian, and Polish as well as in terms of occupation from IT, project manager, folk dance instructor, bobbin lace maker/professional singer and a foreign diplomat, including two couples with four kids altogether. Our guest performer on violin and viola studies at the Liszt Ferenc Music Academy in Budapest, Hungary.

So far, we have had a number of gigs around the Bay Area, in the Golden Gate Park in San Francisco, in Portland, Oregon, as well as in Phoenix, Arizona. We play rock music with strong, primarily Hungarian and Balkan folk elements and folk instruments including viola and flute. Since our home country, Hungary - along with other Central European countries - is celebrating the 30th anniversary of our freedom from communism, we selected a few songs from behind the iron curtain with very typical folk elements.

Core band members:
Éva Gergely - vocals, rhythm stick, tambourine
Márta Orbán - vocals, flute
András Doncsev - piano, acoustic and electric guitars
László Tihanyi - vocals, bass guitar
Attila Egyedi - vocals, acoustic and electric guitars

Guest performer:
Domonkos Bálint - vocals, violin, viola
