Evelyn and her Vintage Ties plays upbeat, authentic vintage jazz, influenced by musicians from the 1920's and 1930’s such as Benny Goodman, Billie Holiday, Charlie Christian and Ella Fitzgerald.
James and Joleigh are teachers at The Breakaway who love sharing the joy and energy of Lindy Hop. They started dancing and teaching at Lindy on Sproul in 2004 and have since helped start and organize 4 different venues across the East Bay. Lindy Hop to them is not just about dancing but also about the amazing social community built around it. They are frequently spotted on Tuesdays at The Breakaway or other East Bay dance events!
