Berkeley, CA… Bay Area comedian and comedy producer, Lisa Geduldig (of Kung Pao Kosher Comedy), and Ashkenaz Music & Dance Community Center in Berkeley joined forces last Fall and are bringing the East Bay a new monthly (on the second Thursday of the month) comedy series Comedy at Ashkenaz! featuring a different line-up of comedians each month, with Geduldig acting as the MC.

The Ashkenaz comedy waters were tested in June 2017 with a Gay Pride Comedy Night, and since a packed house turned out they’ve decided to collaborate on this monthly comedy show. The series launched in October 2017 and last minute became a North Bay fire relief benefit raising over $1200 for a local food bank.

The fourth show in the series, which takes place on Thursday, January 11, will feature Ngaio Bealum, Ronn Vigh, Carla Clayy, Jeff Applebaum, and host Lisa Geduldig.

Ngaio Bealum-2.jpeg

Ngaio Bealum uses his great storytelling ability, razor sharp wit, and engaging stage presence to leave audiences howling with laughter. He has earned a 5-star rating on Ticketmaster.com and has appeared on ABC, MTV, BET, Comedy Central, and many other TV programs. He has opened for Dave Chappelle and Weird Al (but not at the same time) and is also a regular guest on The Doug Benson Podcasts. Ngaio is constantly on the road and has headlined comedy clubs and performed at music and arts festivals all over the country.

RonnVigh.jpg

Ronn Vigh hits the stage with his brash attitude and acerbic wit that once earned him a comparison to a young Joan Rivers by The SF Weekly. They were certainly on to something, as Ronn later became a joke writer for Rivers on her E! Television show, Fashion Police. Equal parts edgy and endearing, Ronn performs regularly at comedy clubs, colleges and theaters across the nation. He has headlined Reno Gay Pride and performed at Lake Tahoe Gay & Lesbian WinterFest, Michigan ComedyFest, SF SketchFest, Bird City Comedy Festival and more. Off stage, Ronn enjoys watching football, hiking and eating carbs. While that makes him sound more masculine, he still gets called "ma'am" on the telephone at least once a week. Hear for yourself and listen to Ronn and co-host Joe Tobin on their weekly podcast, "Switching Teams: A Gay Dude & A Straight Dude Talk About Sports." New episodes are available every Tuesday on iTunes.
