Michela Musolino is an internationally recognized Sicilian-American singer. The grand-daughter of Sicilians immigrated to America, she has re-discovered her own cultural roots through the study and reinterpretation of the folk songs of Sicily and Southern Italy. Fabio Turchetti is a composer and accordionist from Cremona who travels the world with his music. Dividing his time between a repertoire of Italian folk revival and his own compositions , besides performing, Turchetti also writes books on the topic of music. Together Musolino and Turchetti have created "Terra Sangue Mare" (with percussionist Michael Delia) whose eponymous CD has received excellent public feedback and critical acclaim. It's been included in Pop Matters' list of The Twelve Best World Music Albums for 2016 and is played on world music radio stations around the globe. Musolino & Turchetti will present a concert of Sicilian folk and roots music, including both traditional and contemporary songs as well as some original compositions based on the songs they recently recorded on their CD Terra Sangue Mare. Released in 2016, the CD has been well received by the public and critics alike. The two musicians with their instruments (voice, frame drum, guitar, organetto) will lead the audience on a fascinating voyage of rediscovering centuries of the musical traditions and culture of Sicily.
