Post-Holiday Barn Stomp with Jubilee American Dance Theatre; Chappell & Dave Holt followed by Square Dancing called by Erik Hoffman

Doors at 6:30 pm; Show at 7:00 pm

Tickets are $12 / $5 Kids aged 6-15

Far from our standard dance night where one style of music is presented, this post-holiday Barn Stomp features music from throughout the U.S. and from different eras, from Appalachian to swing and more. It mixes fast-paced demonstrations by members of Jubilee American Dance Theatre with dancers in period costumes, lessons for attendees, and a square dance blowout with the entire group and calling by Erik Hoffman. The first hour features Chappell & Dave Holt with Cristina Seaborn, a daisy clogging demonstration, an exhibition square dance by the troupe, and then a square dance lesson before the square dance.

Formed in 1999 by Hilary Roberts, Jubilee American Dance Theatre is a unique performance ensemble, bringing to life dances, music, songs, and stories from Appalachia to Swing Era dance halls to Cajun Country, from North American Whalers to Baja California to America’s immigrants. Jubilee transports audiences to another time and place. Directed by Becky Coulter since 2009, Jubilee’s work is set in context: the costume staff carefully researches and reproduces authentic costumes of each era, and music directors recreate regional and historical musical styles.
